Lindsey Wixson in the doll’s house

What would have happened if Lindsey Wixson had proved unavailable to model for this shoot? That’s what I find myself wondering, considering that with those button lips and that dimpled chin, it seems to have been conceptualised just for her.

Like a Doll is the title. Like a doll she is. Not just by her nature, but by the styling: candy colours and sheer knee-high stockings, both her clothes and the (oddly creepy) giant doll that inhabits her world seeming to have jumped out of some ’60s children’s book.

Despite the sweet styling Wixson could almost, with her bee-stung lips, be the blonde, fringed Angelina Jolie we know from Girl Interrupted.
